Welcome to Grapevine
The Project
GRAPEVINE is the European initiative that will improve current pest prediction and control systems in the wine sector, thanks to Big Data and Artificial Intelligence technologies.
GRAPEVINE aspires to:
- Reduce the environmental impact by optimizing the use of phytosanitary products and increasing biodiversity.
- Provide an intelligent decision support tool for grape growers adaptable to other regions.
- Improve farms sustainability.

For the
FARMERS
GRAPEVINE aims at provide open information to farmers potentially affected by diseases affecting vineyards, so they can apply a more effective treatment.

For the technicians
GRAPEVINE is oriented to help and support the role of technicians involved in crop management and protection, with prevention and monitoring tools.

For the scientific community
GRAPEVINE will promote inside the scientific community the use of existing open data, HPC and data infrastructures to enhance the existing processes to face challenges in the agricultural sector.

For the
Companies
GRAPEVINE is providing companies with a reusable IT service to be potentially used by any region with similar issues.
GRAPEVINE is the opportunity to use High Performance Computing to go one step beyond in grapevine diseases prevention by using complex models that provide useful information for fighting the diseases at the right moment with the right phytosanitary products.
This type of applications can be adapted to other crops with required changes to fight other diseases.
